Early Beginnings

The origins of Fernland Engineering date back to the early 1960s, a time when the world was rapidly advancing in technology and industry. The company was founded by two visionary engineers, Pat Fern and Bert England, whose combined expertise and passion for engineering laid the foundation for what would become a respected name in the industry.

Pat and Bert were not only colleagues but also close friends who shared a common dream: to create a company that would stand out for its innovation, quality, and commitment to excellence. Drawing on their years of experience in the field, they decided to combine their surnames, Fern and England, to form the name "Fernland" – a symbol of their partnership and the legacy they hoped to build together.

Starting from a small workshop, Pat and Bert worked tirelessly to establish Fernland Engineering as a trusted provider of precision engineering services. Their dedication to craftsmanship, attention to detail, and focus on customer satisfaction quickly earned them a loyal clientele. Over the years, the company expanded its operations, taking on increasingly complex projects and growing its team of skilled engineers.

The Story so fAR

1980's

The next significant chapter in Fernland Engineering's history began in 1988, when the company was taken over by Phil Kelly and Ken Stinson. Both Phil and Ken had been long-time employees of the firm, deeply familiar with its operations, values, and the strong reputation it had built under the leadership of its founders, Pat Fern and Bert England. Their decision to take over the company was driven by a shared commitment to preserving the legacy of excellence that had been established over the preceding decades.

1990's

As experienced engineers with a deep understanding of the business, Phil and Ken were ideally positioned to lead Fernland Engineering into a new era. They were determined to build on the solid foundation laid by Pat and Bert, while also introducing fresh ideas and modernising the company to meet the evolving needs of the industry. Under their leadership, Fernland Engineering continued to thrive, gaining new clients and expanding its range of services.

2004

In 2004, Phil and Ken recognised that the time was right for a significant restructuring of the company to ensure its continued success in a competitive market. This restructuring involved a strategic realignment of the business, which included a slight change to the company’s name and a reorganisation of the staff to better align with the company's future goals. The name change was subtle yet symbolic, reflecting a new chapter in Fernland’s history while maintaining the core identity that clients had come to trust.

A New Look

In 2024, Fernland Engineering is undergoing a modest rebrand, unveiling a fresh new logo and a sleek, redesigned website to better reflect the company’s innovative spirit. This update signifies a renewed commitment to modernity and customer engagement whilst maintaining the core values that have built its reputation. Alongside the new visuals, Fernland Engineering is introducing subtle improvements in its communications and services, aiming to enhance the overall client experience.
